RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian was injured after being shot with a rubber-coated steel bullet and dozens suffered from excessive tear gas inhalation during clashes after Israeli soldiers attacked a protest late Friday at the entrance to the village of Shuqba west of Ramallah.

Witnesses told Ma'an that clashes erupted between soldiers and Palestinians when a rally in solidarity with Gaza set off from in front of the village mosque in the direction of the main entrance of the village.

Israeli forces shot rubber-coated steel bullets at demonstrators injuring Ahmad Taysir Mutawe, 23, who was moved to Ramallah Medical Center for treatment.

Dozens suffered from excessive tear gas inhalation after Israeli forces fired large numbers of tear gas grenades at protesters.

The rally was jointly called for by nationalist and Islamic parties, and protesters raised the Palestinian flag and shouted slogans against the Israeli offensive on Gaza, which has killed more than 330 Palestinians in the last 12 days.
