CAIRO (AFP) -- Gunmen firing rocket-propelled grenades attacked an Egyptian border guards checkpoint Saturday, killing 15 soldiers, officials and state media said, in one of the biggest assaults since Islamist president Mohamed Morsi's ouster.

Militants have stepped up attacks on the security forces since Morsi was toppled in July 2013 as the army struggles to quell an Islamist insurgency that has killed scores of soldiers and police, mainly in the Sinai Peninsula bordering Israel and the Gaza Strip.

Gunmen used RPGs and heavy machine guns when they attacked the checkpoint in a desert area at El-Farafrah, 390 miles west of Cairo, security officials said.

State news agency MENA confirmed the attack, saying three assailants were also killed during the clash, the second to hit the same checkpoint in less than three months.

And what about the 2 Egyptian soldiers just injured by an ISRAELI MISSILE at Rafah Crossing?? Looks like Israel is trying to get Egypt MORE involved & widen this WAR into a cross Rafah-border war? After all,to Israel,"Aravim are all "Aravim",Egyptians ot NOT!
So Egyptian soldiers working for El Sisi(Israel's boy)are getting fired on BY BOTH sides?? How's that for conflict of interests?

A sad day for Egypt. But another reason why al-Sisi will shoot on sight any terrorist scum that approaches Egypt trying to escape the IDF. More proof that the MB, Hamas, etc., are all murdering psychopaths that must be eradicated to the last man. Stay strong Egypt!
