RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Palestinians marched through Ramallah on Wednesday carrying 500 symbolic coffins with the names of people killed by Israeli forces in Gaza, a Ma'an reporter said.

The rally was organized by the municipalities of Ramallah, al-Bireh, and Beituniya as a protest against the Israeli offensive on Gaza.

Laila Ghannam, the governor of the Ramallah and al-Bireh district, participated in the rally, along with members of Fatah's central committee.

"Palestinians are united and cannot be divided," Ghannam said at the rally.

"The blood of children is a stigma on the forehead of the silent world that claims to respect human rights," she added.

"The blood of our people in the West Bank is mixed with the blood of Gazans. The blood is one, the decision is one, and the goal is one."

Israel's latest offensive on Gaza, dubbed "Operation Protective Edge," has left over 650 Palestinians dead, most of them civilians. Over 4,000 Palestinians have been injured.

Thirty-one Israelis, all but two of them soldiers, have also died in the fighting, in addition to a foreign civilian worker who died Wednesday after being hit by mortar fire in southern Israel.

Palestinians in Ramallah should PROTEST HAMAS' offensive, since
- There would be No Israelis in Gaza, if not for Hamas' rockets !!

Had Hamas not launched rockets and terrorist raids at Israel, Gaza would be quietly enjoying a nice summer day. The tragedy that is happening in Gaza is Hamas's fault, nobody else's. Parading around with miniature coffins only serves to remind the world that 'Muslims love death as Israel loves life.' You courted death for the last 3 years- and now that you got your wish you're having doubts? Hamas and its supporters will be destroyed. The west bank should be very cautious.

David is right. I think the original wording is "You love life, we love death" and is attributed to Osama Bin Laden. The cult of death in the Muslim world is truly sickening and bears a large resemblance to Nazi propaganda in 1930s Germany. There are so many similarities between the two, which is no coincidence. What does strike me as odd though: Don?t the Arabs realise there will not be another Holocaust? If anything, Jews have "learnt their lesson" and toughened up. God bless Israel the IDF

Israel has been using Hamas as an excuse!Israel doesn't want peace cause it never showed its willingness towards peace talks,: new settlements, many Palestinians killed since the beginning of January 2014 and collective punishment. Resistance its the product of the occupation, not its reason! you want peace? give palestinians justice!killing people like this can't be justified by any reason, especially not self-defense..yalla Palestine: bring them to the international court of justice!!
