BERLIN (AFP) -- German flag carrier Lufthansa said Thursday it would continue to suspend flights to Tel Aviv for another 24 hours over security concerns amid Israel's offensive on the Gaza Strip.

"We will resume flights as soon as the protection of the airport is assured in a tangible manner," it said in a statement.

Earlier on Thursday, US airlines lifted their bans on flights to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport, which were imposed on Tuesday after a rocket fell near the airport, and the European air safety agency also lifted its warning on flights to Israel.

Zionist Regime Israel shoul be on a PERMANENT FLIGHT-BAN list, basically until Israel's illegal occupation &collective punishment of Palestine of 67-80 yrs IS ENDED FIRST! All UNGA nations which TRUELY believe in human freedoms, basic human rights, pluralism, respect & INTERNATIONAL LAWS of wars &PEACE,should be including Israeli-air-space as part of the BDS movement. If the don't ,they're in collusion with Israeli WAR CRIMES & crimes against humanity & WE should boycott Lufthansa,et al TOO!

Germany values the safety of its airlines and their flying clients than worrying about a backlash from Israel and its supporters , just like America did. A totally political decision. Nothing , in security terms had changed on the ground. The rockets are still flying around Tel Aviv . What changed is a political decision under political pressure and duress that came to bear on the US administration and the FAA by Aipac , right wingers like senator Cruz and Jewish billionaires like Bloomberg.
