Israeli army: Number of soldiers killed in Gaza offensive rises to 40

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- The Israeli army said in a statement Saturday that the number of soldiers killed during Israel's ground invasion of Gaza had risen to 40.

"Since the beginning of Operation Protective Edge, 40 IDF (army) officers and soldiers have been killed," the statement said.

I wonder what the true figure of fatalities is. Israelis may be giving a lower figure just to keep the public moral up.

40, with the most lethal WMD at their disposal? How would Israeli soldiers ever cope with a real war on a level 'playing field?' No wonder the Israeli military junta is always calling on the Goy to fight their wishful war against Iran.

hamas kills 42 israeli militar personal. israek kills 1000 children ,women ,old people.doctors firefigthers,and destroys schools,churches,hospitals. what kind of moral army is this. do israel soldiers get a purpple heart for this mass killings?

@3) Maureen / Australia The reason why they have 40 plus casualties is because the IDF ground forces are known to have lack of experience in guerrilla warhare, that's what Hamas is giving the IDF in Gaza. They will have more casualties on the ground while the Israeli airforce try to do the damages from the air, and from their Navy. A war with Iran obviously will be disastrous for Israel even with their nukes that Iran might even get them ready to launch from China.
