JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained a young Palestinian man from his home in al-Bireh near Ramallah on Saturday evening, threatening his family members throughout the raid.

Muhammad Munthir al-Auri, 22 was detained after a raid on his home near Ali Ibn Abu Talib Mosque minutes before the evening breaking of fast, or iftar.

Family members told Ma'an that Israeli forces hand-cuffed Sheikh Munthir al-Auri and all his sons Muhammad, Ibrahim, Mousa, and Sufyan during the raid, assaulting them with clubs before they took Muhammad into custody.

The detainee's mother and aunt, meanwhile, were locked inside a room at gunpoint. The soldiers fired six live gunshots inside the house, family members said.

For many years Jewish people would caution each other to avoid doing anything that would bring opprobrium with "don't do that" or "what that writer is writing about us is bad for the Jews". Now, without doubt, ISRAEL is bad for the Jews. How ironic that the Israel lobbyists and the poorly prepared hasbaraniks are perpetuating this disgrace and, in so doing, are breeding a new and ugly phase of anti-semitism.
