BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- A rocket fired from Gaza was intercepted near Jerusalem late Tuesday, a Ma'an reporter said.

Sirens sounded in and around Jerusalem as the rocket was intercepted above the illegal Israeli settlement of Gush Etzion near Bethlehem.

Shortly afterwards, Islamic Jihad's al-Quds Brigades took responsibility for firing the rocket.

Over 2,430 rockets have been launched at Israel the beginning of its offensive on Gaza, according to Israeli army figures.

The rockets usually land in open areas, causing no damage, or are intercepted by Israel's Iron Dome system.

However, three civilians have been killed by militant rocket attacks throughout the offensive.

According to the Palestinian health ministry in Gaza, some 1,210 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli attacks since the beginning of the assault.

Rights groups say approximately 80 percent of Palestinians killed have been civilians.

Well, while IJ tries to kill us in Gush Etzion, their rocket was shot down before it could blow up in Gush Etzion, or Beit Fajr or Beut Umar or Tsurif. Hamas and IJ don't care if they kill "martyrs", especially children. They don't want "Palestine", they want an Islamic state that will enslave women and children and kill all non-Muslims.
