GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Sources in Gaza told Ma'an that the body of former Hamas spokesperson Ayman Taha arrived at al-Shifa hospital on Thursday.

Taha was arrested by the Hamas government months ago after being charged with embezzlement and financial fraud, and was in prison until he died.

The circumstances of his death were not immediately clear.

"The circumstances of his death were not immediately clear." Hamas executed him, shot him in the front and back of the head, without trial and then dumped his body in the street. Is that clear enough? His crime? He collaborated with Egypt. So Maan News, can you tell us how many has Hamas executed as collaborators in the war and then counted as civilian causalities?

The Palestinian newspaper al-Quds reported that Taha was not killed by Israel. Instead, they say he was executed by a firing squad after it was learned that he maintained contact with intelligence services in Egypt. According to the report, Taha was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds to his head and chest. The information about his death was only released on Thursday.
