NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Unknown assailants opened fire at an Israeli military point early Saturday in the al-Tur area south of Nablus, while Palestinian youths struck an Israeli settler's vehicle with rocks and injured the occupants.

Palestinian security sources told Ma'an that armed men fired at an Israeli military site near Nablus, while soldiers responded with live fire.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

In an apparently unrelated incident, witnesses said that Palestinian youths threw rocks at a car belonging to a settler on the road near Itamar settlement, causing damage to the car and injuring multiple settler occupants.

An ambulance arrived in the area following the incident.

An Israeli military spokeswoman did not return calls seeking comment.

Protests as well as armed attacks on Israeli military sites have increased in the last month amid mounting anger over a 33-day Israeli assault that has killed more than 1,900 people in the Gaza Strip, as well as 17 in solidarity protests in the West Bank.

The West Bank and Gaza Strip have been under Israeli military occupation since 1967.

Under occupation since 1967? Gaza? Gaza is under occupation by Hamas. Please try and get some of your facts straight. Just like your "99% of Gaza casualties are innocent babies and children.." At least be honest to your readers that you are the official mouthpiece for Hamas. At least then we won't expect ANYTHING truthful (or worth reading) from you. Why is it that all foreign correspondents who left Gaza report Hamas threats against them if they reported the truth? Was Ma'an threatened?

Occupation you say.... Hm. I thought that both the Gaza strip and the West Bank were returned under the land for peace deal from Oslo in 1990.... But could somebody correct me if I am wrong?? Land yes, peace pending....

Not sure any one has said 99% are children but the UN say something like 73% are civilian deaths. Gosh talk about facts and getting them right , sorry about that David the Zionist ...

All foreign correspondents? Let's not forget that during Cast Lead the press wasn't even allowed into Gaza by the IDF, and the press find themselves more harassed by the Israeli authorities. In fact, Hamas have a habit of leaving the press alone unless, that is, you try to get their photos. That they do not like.
