NABLUS (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces on Wednesday demolished four Palestinian homes in the Nablus village of Aqraba, a Palestinian official said.

Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors settlement activity in the northern West Bank, told Ma'an that a large group of Israeli soldiers escorted a bulldozer to the village.

Israeli forces then demolished four old houses in the al-Taweel neighborhood which belonged to Muhammad Sudqi Salih and his brother Anwar.

The houses were over 100 years old.

The al-Taweel neighborhood is on the outskirts of Aqraba and locals say Israeli forces have targeted several properties in the area under the pretext that they were built without a permit.

Israel rarely grants Palestinians permits to build in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. It has demolished at least 27,000 Palestinian homes and structures since occupying the West Bank in 1967, according to the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions.

The internationally recognized Palestinian territories of which the West Bank and East Jerusalem form a part have been occupied by the Israeli military since 1967.

When is the international community going to stop Israel from its land grabbing and oppression of Palestinians? Will Palestinians be forced into smaller ghettos and then murdered like what is happening in Gaza? And when will Americans speak out against our own governments willing participation in illegal land grabbing, human rights violations, apartheid and outright genocide by Israel?

How does Israel justify these destructive actions and what is their idea of peace for the people of Palestine as long as they continue down this path? I as an American feel very angry! The Palestinians deserve the right to control the land that belongs to them. I have visited the West Bank three times since 2009 and I have seen the way the occupation has broken apart the land that is for Palestinians with separate roads, settlements, and IDF checkpoints. When will this ever end?

By not condemning such destruction 'western' governments are sadly bringing more shame to their respective governments and attracting right-wing extremism. No wonder the world is in such a precarious state. The only answer is a two state system with equality imposed. If not where will it all end?
