HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council on Friday in Hebron, locals said.

Israeli forces raided the home of Ahmad Moussa al-Zaarir, 52, in al-Samu and searched the property before detaining him.

As of July, 34 Palestinian MPs were being held in detention by Israel, 23 of whom had been arrested in a large-scale detention campaign in the West Bank following the kidnapping of three Israeli youths.

Meanwhile, Palestinians threw a Molotov cocktail at an Israeli military checkpoint in Hebron's Shuhada street, setting it alight.

No injuries were reported, but part of the checkpoint was destroyed.

This is awful. What party did he belong to? Is there a clear pattern to which parties are targeted?
