GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Hamas executed four alleged collaborators with Israel in the courtyard of a mosque in Jabaliya in the northern Gaza Strip on Saturday.

Witnesses told Ma'an that armed men brought the group of four into the court and opened fire at them while dozens of locals gathered.

The Hamas-affiliated Al-Majd website quoted security sources as saying that the four were executed in a "revolutionary" way after "legal measures were completed."

Hamas reportedly declined to release the names or pictures of the executed for the sake of social stability.

The reports come after the Palestinian Authority's presidential office denounced the 18 executions of alleged collaborators on Friday and three the day before, calling them "extrajudicial" and condemning Hamas for failing to abide by existing legal procedures for dealing with the cases.

Although collaboration with Israel is punishable by death in the Palestinian legal code, president Mahmoud Abbas has maintained a moratorium on the death penalty since 2005.

In Gaza, however, death sentences are still carried out as the legitimacy of president Abbas -- whose term officially ended in 2009 -- was not recognized, at least not until a national reconciliation deal in April that technically recognized him.

Israel maintains an extensive network of collaborators in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank who help gather intelligence for Israeli strikes and raids.

Hamas showing its desperation. This brings to about 60 the number of alleged "collaborators" summarily exectued without trial. After Deff and the 3 field commanders were hit, Hamas panicked and killed a couple of dozen "suspects" in order to try and scare the population. Once again...Hamas war crimes murder innocent Palestinians, but nobody cares because they can't blame it on Israel.

I am sad to see more blood even from collaborators who are condemned in any culture , I do not trust Hamas to have given these men due process however the Palestinan Authority itself collaborates with Israel and has done little to advance any real solution that makes the future for its people tolerable.

Maybe the people of Gaza should start executing members of Hamas. That will be the only action that will bring peace and quiet. Maybe it's time the people of Gaza realized that having a death cult as a form of government is hazardous to their health.

Reporters were banned by officials from covering the execution. Suspects always face trial behind closed doors, while the media is usually prevented from covering the proceedings.

Sirs, Those are no collaborators. That is why they were hooded. They were potential or actual critics of the regime. The Palestinian Human Rights' organization PHRMG has been quite explicit on this. The executed ones are said to have been caught "red-handed" collaborating. Barely a handful of insiders have any idea about the whereabouts of Hamas leaders. The idea that a whole crowd - almost 30 until now - would have been caught in the act revealing their location is mind-bending.

Where are all posters siding with Hamas? I hope this is proof enough for them to realize that Hamas must be gone for ever. Only when a disarmed Gaza and school curriculum reformed to ban hate, peace and prosperity will come to the Arabs population.

The only action that will eventually bring any kind of peace is for Israel to stop stealing land, displacing people, occupying the West Bank, and to actually live up to what was agreed to in the Oslo Accords. f course, Israel right-wing Zionists will not do that, because their end game is to take away all rights from non-Jew residents of Israel (the most anti-democratic and racist thing I've ever seen) and drive all Arabs out of Palestine. They'll keep building settlements and murdering Arabs.
