TEL AVIV, Israel (Ma'an) -- Mortar shells fired from Syria landed in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on Wednesday, Israeli media reported.

There were no reports of injury but two vehicles were damaged, Israel's Ynet news site reported.

Israel, which is technically at war with Syria, seized 460 square miles of the strategic plateau during the 1967 Six Day War, and later annexed it in a move the international community does not recognize.

You have your geo-political information wrong. The Golan is part of Israel. It was part of Israel in ancient times and is part of Israel today. Israel took back land that was stolen by the Muslim armies over the centuries. It's just reverted back to its rightful owner. Giving up part of the dar al-Islam shouldn't throw Muslims into a tantrum. Anyway, the Muslims living in the Israeli Golan have more rights, more freedoms, more everything than Muslims living anywhere else on earth. Think about it

Some of what was Israel is claiming from ancient times is not necessarly belong to Israel in modern times. And besides occupying and annexing territories, vandalizing Churches and Mosques using religion as an excuse doesn't justify the occupation as legal. That's the problem with Israel in the region, Israel can be accepted as a State by its neighbors but when they turn to religion to justify their occupation than their occupation becomes unrecognize by the international community.
