RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday demanded Israel makes its borders known and blasted Hamas for maintaining a "parallel" government in Gaza, in a televised interview he gave regarding current political developments.

Abbas said in the interview that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had agreed to establish a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders and the only thing left to negotiate was the exact borders.

"We will not go into a discussion about area A, B, and C. We need each state to finally determine their borders. Israel is the only state in the world with no known borders," he said in a televised interview.

He added that chief negotiator Saeb Erekat and intelligence chief Majid Farraj will meet US Secretary of State John Kerry next week to discuss negotiations.

"We are willing to wait a day, a week or a month," Abbas said, "but not 20 more years."

"If they agree, we will be free with our borders. We will not accept that Israel launches a war against us every two years," he added, promising that if Israel refused he would be ready to respond.

"We will not forgive and Israel will not get away with its crimes. We have a lot of ways and tools to ensure that criminals don't get away with their crimes," he added.

"The Israeli assault wanted a chance to kill and destroy," he said. "The occupation wishes to close its eyes and re-open them to find no Palestinians in sight."

Abbas added that the decision for war or peace must be in the hands of the Palestinian leadership alone.

"I've been insisting on elections for seven years and we will not accept anything but one authority and one rifle. The decision about peace and war is in the hands of the (Palestinian) Authority or otherwise it will be chaos."

On internal issues, Abbas said that the continuation of a parallel Hamas government despite an April national unity agreement was threatening the reconciliation.

"Hamas has a shadow government in Gaza, they have undersecretaries for ministries, and if that continues it will put the national unity at risk," he said.

"I know that ending the division is not quick and needs months, but we will know from the first day that the aid arrives to Gaza if it reaches the people or not," he added.

"Will the unity government be able to rule and operate in Gaza or will there parties that impede it?" he asked, citing an incident where PA ministry of health officials were attacked after entering Gaza.

Abbas also criticized the recent spate of public executions of alleged collaborators with Israel in Gaza, saying they are "criminal" and claiming that Hamas judged and executed on its own without consulting anyone.

He added that he spoke to Khalid Meshaal about Fatah and other faction leaders under house arrest, as well as a series of recent incidents in which the PA alleges dissidents had their legs shot.

"Israel is the only State in the world with no Known borders". Abbas is right. Matter of fact a soldier in the IDF that refuse to fight in the war said "We also feel that we are occupy". Yes Israel is occupy by the Palestinians as the Palestinians are occupied by Israel. And the only way to resolve this issue is for the Palestinians to have their own State, and Israel to define its borders so both can be seperated by an exact border.

Israel Has "Borders", though they are not recognized by many, just as * Palestine has both borders and statehood, that are NOT recognized by many either, and since Palestinians will never accept any realistic peace/borders offers from Israel, * Israel may eventually unilaterally define its borders (or just let it be), along today's reality (Palestine will become essentially Gaza & Areas A/B), so both can be seperated by exact borders !!

@2 - I need to correct you: per Oslo agreements - last standing agreement between Israel and PLO, palestinians control Gaza and West bank area A, Israel and PLO share control over area B of the West bank, Israel controls West bank area C and sectors E and D. Israel annexed East Jerusalem and declare it undivided capital of the State of Israel. So, palestinians can have their state in Gaza and West bank area A. They need to reach an agreement on partitioning of the West bank area B with Israel.

Defacto the borders of Israel are from the river to the Sea. Golan to Eilat. Palestinian self governing area is (Area A & B, Gaza) per Oslo agreements until otherwise agreed by treaty.

Actually, I agree Israel must clarify future borders. However, Abbas and Palestinians must know they will NOT be the pre-1967 Israel/Jordan border; those disappeared when Israel won the 1967 war and Jordan ceded the West Bank to the Palestinians. Israel will get East Jerusalem and some additional land in return for Palestinians gaining statehood: it is the only deal that will result in peace.

Israel declared and accepted borders as defined by the Partition Plan in 1948. Those are still Israels only legally recognized borders Internationally. Armistice lines are not borders and though Israel had an opportunity to negotiate with Egypt and Syria to alter borders this was never done. At the end of Six Day War and peace with Egypt Israel withdrew to its Partition Plan borders.

Right of Conquest ended with WW2. Hence Israel being reminded of inadmissibility of acquisition of territory by force. Nether Offensive or defensive. Right of Conquest was ended due to the dispossesed and stateless people left after German Occupation....predominently Jews. Hence the World divided Palestine so Jews could have their own State. Hardly correct of Israel to dispossess and make homeless Palestinians by Occupation.

Israel has floating borders that change every time they dispossess more Palestinians of their land and build more settlements. You can't negotiate a peace treaty and a state if you have movable borders. The fact that they continue to do this shows their true intent. Reagan stopped aid to Israel because of their settlements. But now Israel gets their aid money up front so we can't stop it. We can stop giving more, however. Israel also never ratified their Constitution. How are they a state at all?
