GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- The Ministry of Public Works will begin work to "limit the damage" of the Israeli offensive on Sunday, Palestinian public works minister Mufeed al-Hasayneh said Friday.

The minister said in a statement that a committee consisting of members from top UN relief organizations UNDP, UNRWA, and OCHA and supervised by the ministry would begin work on reconstruction.

Al-Hasayneh added that the committee planned to work in all districts of Gaza, "starting from Beit Hanoun in the north to Rafah in the south," and that damaged housing units would be repaired.

The statement said the ministry will cooperate with all partners in the reconstruction field.

The damage was the result of retaliatory strikes. "Retaliation" means a response to something. In this case, it was unrelenting Hamas rocket fire that demanded a response. That means all damage in Gaza is the direct result of Hamas's actions. I hope all of Gaza is proud of their elected government- a government that is directly responsible for the deaths of 2,200 people plus thousands of injured and destroyed neighborhoods. The world looks at Gaza and thinks, 'what fools.'

Retaliation was the resistance approach to Israeli aggression on Gaza. The resistance stood up to the bully & gained worldwide support. Btw #1, are you proud of the destruction your government has enabled to be wreaked on Gaza, or for that matter the current ME situation with IS? Thought not!!

Isreal inflicted a great victory on soft (non military, civilian) targets.. That's all they could do, and have done in all past wars of aggression.. It's their modus operandi.. Kill and destroy soft targets.. Such an obscene society..
