GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Hamas still has not yet received information from Egypt about renewing negotiations with Israel, a senior leader of the Islamist movement said Saturday.

"We are still waiting for an Egyptian notification for plans to continue negotiations," Mousa Abu Marzouq said in a press conference in Gaza's al-Shifa hospital.

Abu Marzouq traveled to Gaza on Thursday to celebrate what Hamas called a victory over Israel after seven weeks of fighting.

Palestinian factions in Gaza and Israel ended a 51-day war on Tuesday with a long-term ceasefire in which Israel agreed to ease its siege on the coastal enclave. Further negotiations regarding unresolved issues such as an airport and seaport in Gaza and the demilitarization of factions in the Strip were to take place in Egypt a month later.

For sure the negotiations will continue as planned in shah Allah. Too much has happened now for them not to continue. The planned negotiations are a positive step to moving forward. Sometimes these things just take a bit of planning. Hoping for more news soon.

I doubt Israel will continue the negotiations. Netanyahu's rating is dropping at least 50% of the Israelis for his failure to take out Hamas and to reoccupy Gaza till the job is finish. So Netanyahu either he continues the negotiations and that would be another loss for his government, or to restart the war, and I guess he knows how. He has a worse problem than he had before the war, so it will take sometime for any further negotiations.
