HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained three Palestinians from Beit Ummar in the southern West Bank late Tuesday, including two arrested after they had turned themselves in for questioning.
A spokesman for the Beit Ummar Local Committee against the Wall and Settlements, Muhammad Ayyad Awad, said that Israeli forces stormed the Asida neighborhood of Beit Ummar and broke into the home of Mahir Ibrahim Audah Sabarnah, 33, before detaining him.
Awad added that Israeli troops also raided the home of former Palestinian prisoner Turki Muhammad al-Alami during the invasion and confiscated a laptop and a number of mobile sim cards.
An Israeli military spokeswoman confirmed the arrest, saying that he was a "Hamas operative."
Separately, Israeli forces on Tuesday evening detained Jawad Riyad Bregheith, 29, and Muflih Raed Ahmad Adi, 19.
The two were detained after they arrived at Etzion interrogation center south of Bethlehem after receiving a summons order.
Beit Ummar has seen frequent clashes in recent weeks as Israeli forces have repeatedly blocked the road into the town.
